Rainy Night Shoots & Meetings

Even after last week, we still had scenes to film — and some shots needed to be completely reshot. So what did we do? We grabbed our gear, layered up, and headed out into rainy, cold weather to get the perfect footage.

Sam and Vy even stayed out until 9:30 PM to finish shooting the most important scenes. That’s commitment. Honestly, the dedication our team has poured into this project is unreal.

Once filming wrapped, the crew reviewed all the footage, divided up editing tasks, and built a clear timeline for when everything needs to be polished. Organized and creative — the SafeSpace wombo combo.

Later, we met with our advisor, Chris, to give an update on our progess and

Final Presentation Prep

So… our final presentation is in three weeks. THREE.

We’re definitely feeling the panic, but we’re also getting ahead of it by planning early. Luckily, a lot of our midterm content can be reused — we just need to adjust our demo and start practicing like our lives depend on it.

Me and Lucie are teaming up again to write the script, aiming to have it finished two weeks early so we can rehearse properly.

Meanwhile, our dev team is working at 2x speed to hit deadlines and make sure the final build is presentation-ready. Truly the backbone of SafeSpace.

Looking Ahead

Next week will focus on presentation prep and script writing, while our devs continue working their magic behind the scenes. Most importantly, we’ll be doing our best to stay calm and avoid collectively combusting. Step by step, Team SafeSpace is pushing forward and doing everything we can to finish strong.

Rainy Night Shoots & Meetings

This entire week was dedicated to perfecting our midterm presentation — and then finally presenting it.

Of course, things couldn’t go perfectly. During our final run-through, we realized the audio playback for our incident recordings would not project sound. Classic. So we improvised: showed the transcript, generated the AI report live.

On presentation day, we rolled in fully prepared. We had our tripod set up to record ourselves, coordinated all-black outfits and every team member ready to present…except Vy, who was sick and sadly had to miss the day. The vibes were definitely different without our full team, but SafeSpace adjusted, adapted, and kept going. <3

And honestly? We absolutely ATE. The presentation went so well, and we were proud of everything we pulled off. We walked away with solid feedback and a new fire for the final presentation. Next time, we’re hitting that Telus Theatre stage with confidence and an app we’re ready to show off.
