Midterm Presentation Week!!!

Midterm Presentation
Our main focus this week was getting ready for our midterm presentation — this took more brain power than expected. We wanted to go beyond the typical “here’s our project” format, so we decided to build a story around our app. The goal? Make the audience feel why our product matters.
So how did we do it?
We wrote a story-based script that would connect emotionally with our audience
Designed clean, engaging slides that supported our narrative
Figured out the best way to showcase our app’s core features without overwhelming people
Most importantly, we wanted everything to feel natural, easy to follow, and memorable
Film Planning
With the midterm behind us, we finally turned our focus to our ad filming.
We assembled a whole committee and locked in roles:
- Screenwriters: Emma & Sam
- Directors: Sam & Kat
- Mic Operator: Vy
- Assistants: Lucie & Wende
- Camera: Sam
- Actors: Luca, Emily, + Lucie (ONLY if absolutely necessary)
- Editing: Kat & Emily
- Logo Animation: Wende
Our filming day is set for November 7th, but we’ve still got a mountain to tackle — actors, props, locations… the list grows every time we talk about it.
But honestly? After the midterm grind, the whole team needed a weekend to breathe. And we earned it.
Moving Forward
Week 9 already?? That means week 10 is right around the corner, and so is the chaos.
Coming up next:
- Ad filming
- Brochures
- Merch
- Final presentation prep (!!)
Most of the workload is shifting from design to development now, so we’re rallying behind our devs and supporting them however we can.
One day at a time. One task at a time.Team SafeSpace is moving, building, and pushing forward — and we’re determined to finish strong.

Midterm Presentation Week!!!

Midterm Presentation
This entire week was dedicated to perfecting our midterm presentation — and then finally presenting it.
Of course, things couldn’t go perfectly. During our final run-through, we realized the audio playback for our incident recordings would not project sound. Classic. So we improvised: showed the transcript, generated the AI report live.
On presentation day, we rolled in fully prepared. We had our tripod set up to record ourselves, coordinated all-black outfits and every team member ready to present…except Vy, who was sick and sadly had to miss the day. The vibes were definitely different without our full team, but SafeSpace adjusted, adapted, and kept going. <3
And honestly? We absolutely ATE. The presentation went so well, and we were proud of everything we pulled off. We walked away with solid feedback and a new fire for the final presentation. Next time, we’re hitting that Telus Theatre stage with confidence and an app we’re ready to show off.
